About artist
The Band of The Royal Regiment of Canada, based at Fort York in Toronto, has a continuous tradition reaching back to 1863, and is the longest continuously serving Military Band in the Canadian Armed Forces. A decree by Queen Victoria authorized the Regiment to wear the distinctive scarlet uniform and bearskin cap of the "Guards" on all ceremonial occasions. The Band appears at various functions across Canada and internationally. In recent years the band performed at Rideau Hall in Ottawa, St-Andrews-By-The-Sea, New Brunswick, in tattoos at Gander, Victoria and Krakow, Poland. The Band is under the musical direction of Lieutenant Gregory Yasinsky, and performs by kind permission of LCol Adam West, CD, Commanding Officer.
