About artist
The Ukrainian Song Theater "Rodyna" at St. Volodymyr's Cathedral in Toronto has existed for over 10 years. "Rodyna" means family, a union of close people with the same goals and values. The "Rodyna" collective was created from singers of the cathedral choir. In addition to church services, the choir members, under the direction of the conductor Andriy Dmytrovych, study and perform Ukrainian Songs and conduct active concert and educational work in the Ukrainian Community. For the "Rodyna" collective, it has already become a good tradition to hold annual Shevchenko concerts, concerts for Mother's Day, Vyshyvanka Day, and Christmas and Easter concerts. The basis of the repertoire of the "Rodyna" collective is the Ukrainian song in all its beauty and genre diversity. All participants of the "Rodyna" Ukrainian Song Theater are convinced that the Ukrainian Song, just like the language, is one of the key codes of the nation. It is one of the forms of preserving our historical past and an effective tool in protecting and building our future.
