About artist
The Ukrainian Youth Ensembles consist of the Levada Women’s Choir, Orion Men’s Choir & Vanguard Concert/Marching Band. It was founded in 1985 in Toronto under the musical direction of the late Maestro Wasyl Kardash. Currently Roman Yasinsky is the artistic director and Zhanna Zinchenko is the conductor of Choirs. The choirs consist of members who are passionate about choral music. They demonstrate a desire for artistic growth, new partnerships in the community, singing the songs of their heritage, preserving their cultural identity and contributing to Canada’s multicultural fabric. Many of our choir members are high school and university students, young professionals and retirees who together aspire to raise the choir’s profile in the community.
