Kryva Kosa

About artist

KRYVA KOSA is a collective of musicians and artists based in Toronto who share the folk music traditions from their diverse backgrounds. They play live music, teach folk dances at public social events, and create interactive spaces for musical exchange and learning.

"Kryva Kosa" means "crooked scythe" in Ukrainian. Join them to experience timeless village folk melodies from Ukraine and neighbouring Slavic, Baltic, Finnish, Hungarian, and Balkan cultures of Europe. They have performed and taught dances at the various cultural institutions as well as live shows in Toronto's music venues such as Bloor West Village Ukrainian Festival, Hart House UofT, St. Volodymyr Institute, Drom Taberna, Kosa Folk Arts events, etc.
