For 56 years, our school has provided traditional Ukrainian dance instruction to generations of Ukrainians in Mississauga and the Greater Toronto Area. Our commitment is in teaching traditional Ukrainian dances, celebrating Ukrainian heritage, expanding cultural diversity in Canada, and strengthening Ukrainian identity within the community. Since February 2022, we have welcomed newcomers from Ukraine. We are proud to announce that this year, we put together our 56th Annual Concert program with 535 students. Last summer, in 2024, we participated in the UNBROKEN UKRAINE charity project. We performed in seven cities across four East Coast Provinces of Canada, helping to raise $62,000.00 CAD to support the UNBROKEN Rehabilitation Centre in L’viv, Ukraine, for those affected by the war. In July of this year, Barvinok organized a European tour to express our gratitude to Europeans for their support of Ukraine. We visited Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Austria, and Poland, and had the honor of participating in the Lemkivska Vatra festival in Zdynia, Poland.
